Ernie has a well-established reputation as the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Xcoal Energy and Resources. With a career in the industry spanning more than 45 years, Ernie has established a strong network of business relationships across the world.
Ernie is a world-renowned expert in marketing, financing and developing mining and infrastructure projects.
Aaron is an experienced General Manager. He is an expert in underground development process improvement. An excellent communicator, Aaron engages his teams to deliver outstanding results.
Aaron has more than 18 years’ experience in underground coal mining, at sites in Queensland and New South Wales. He holds his QLD and NSW ERZ Controller / Deputy Certificates, Site Senior Executive (SSE) qualification and a Bachelor of Applied Science.
Daniel is an experienced General Manager and Operations Manager with a passion for safety leadership, process improvement and statutory compliance.
Daniel is an operationally focused leader with a passion for implementing systemic improvement at his operations. Daniel implemented EMQnet, an Emergency Management system, at Grasstree Mine, which was recognised as industry best practice emergency response management technology.
Daniel has over 19 years’ experience in underground coal mining and holds his QLD ERZ Controller, Second and First-Class Mine Managers’ Certificates and Site Senior Executive (SSE) qualifications.
Scott is an experienced manager having led various process areas at a range of high performing coal mines. He is process based, team orientated and uncompromising on results.
Scott established the primary development at Grosvenor; developing the systems and then expanding the operation into four standalone units. Over the last 12 years in the underground coal mining industry he has been equally successful during deployments in management of Longwall, Technical Services and Compliance departments.
He has completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining), holds a Ventilation officer qualification and Queensland Deputy Certificate and has recently completed the relevant study for the First Class Mine Managers’ Qualification.
Adam was an experienced General Manager with a proven record for building effective teams. He led transformations at Oaky North, Moranbah North, Grasstree and Grosvenor, helping establish these mines as the highest producing in Australia.
Adam had more than 20 years’ experience in the industry and was an expert in cultural change and the implementation of mine operating systems to drive productivity. He had a passion for excellence and achieving world-class results, sustained over time. He would always share the accolades he received with his team leading to the development of strong relationships within the mines he managed. Having worked from the coal face through to roles in upper management he became duly qualified as a Queensland ERZ Controller, Second and First Class Mine Manager and also achieved certification as a Site Senior Executive (SSE).
Looking back at his career, one of Adam’s strongest attributes that led to his success was the ability to speak and listen to people at all levels of an organization. Whether he was in the board room of a global mining company or on the continuous miner with the left hand bolter operator, he could listen, communicate and generate respect.
He was known as a hard boss to many but a boss that most people loved to work for. Adam would generate respect because he was direct in what was required, had a no-nonsense approach to decision making and was a man of his word.
Adam will be sadly missed but not forgotten by the Xcoal team.
